7string Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 The bass player with the Ukelele Orchestra of Great Britain plays an acoustic bass guitar. Maybe he should get a bass uke for more authenticity. Quote
wmsheep Posted February 5, 2009 Author Posted February 5, 2009 Doesnt he also play a tenor guitar? Quote
7string Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 Could do. I only have the "Anarchy in the Ukulele" DVD to go by, so I may be a bit behind the times. Quote

EssentialTension Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 When I saw the UOGB, the bassist called his acoustic bass guitar a bass uke as a sort of joke. Quote

Trouble is, they say it's a prototype, and a production one would be shorter scale, and not have the fifth string. So it's barely any longer than an Ashbory, and that's close to half the scale length of a standard 4-string bass. I'll bet it's much more expensive than an Ashbory ... for a limited use/holiday/travel bass Edited February 8, 2009 by BigBeatNut Quote
