Mickyk
After a bit of advice really .If you were to replace the already decent sounding pups in the above bass ?what would you change them too ,and why.
Mudpup
I may be wrong but i think they're a weird size/shape and you can't easily drop in replacements. But why would you want to change them? Edited February 13, 2020 by Mudpup

I get that they are already pretty decent PUPS,I was just wondering if they could be improved upon, and if so what with.Which begs another question.?Are the pups on these basses specifically made for this particular Bass,if so seems strange that Yamaha would do this ,as it limits up selling to alternative PUPS. Yup (although pickups from a 1024 or 2024 would probably fit if you could find some) and Yup Edited February 13, 2020 by Mudpup
Cuzzie
They are weird shapes compared to everyone else. Pick up covers I think are glued on, but they will wiggle off - you may be able to then fit another split coil underneath, but the poles may not match exactly if that bothers you. The other thing would be to get the actual Pick ups Re-wound to your own taste and that may work for you - choose your U.K. based pick up maker as per your taste!
