didle Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 Hi All, It's my first post here so please be nice to me :-) After a long break from playing I need to get myself some new strings for my 5-String Streamer. The saddle on the bridge of the B string is so narrow it can only take a taper wound and at this point I don't want to have it enlarged. I usually buy Warwick Black Label - I'm happy with the sound and quality of them but I'm just curious to try something else. My question is does anybody know of any other brands which have a taper wound E and B? I also noticed that DR sell some "Peacock Blue" strings - does anybody have any experience of these? I must admit that I really like the idea of having blue strings but if the sound and life of the strings is rotten I won't bother. Cheers, Doug Quote

DirkThrust Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 Fender also make taper wound strings. They are standard fit on new US Fenders Quote
Etienne Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 +1 on the Fender t/w strings: They came as standard on the Roscoe Beck V I used to own, and worked beautifully with that bass. Quote
