Lew-Bass
I've got a £300 budget, can anyone recommend to me a good half-stack idea? Hoping to be gigging with an indie band Edit: Forgot to say, I'm up for extremely good condition S/H Edited February 6, 2009 by Lew-Bass
fekalizatorius
Well... Three words: Ashdown MAG series. I got my 300w head + 4x10" just for 450eu (~the same in pounds)brand new. I think, the 2x10 +300w head goes somewhere around ~1200LTL(My currency), or 350 pounds retail. Of course, you can go S/H, or go with the EB series - 180w, great value for the price. Personally, I won't recommend anything other than ashdown, just because I love the clear and deep sound of ashdowns. Cheers, Fek.

Musky
Hartke LH-500 and this?
The LH500 seems to have had a huge increase in price recently. It might be available somewhere for the £200-odd you could get them at before, but mostly they seem to be going for £249+ now.
Skywalker83
Heres my rig Warwick Profet 3.2 Phil Jones 4B cab The current set up there gives around 180W, if i add another 4B cab it goes up to 300W The best thing about it is that its tiny, it comes up to just above my knee. And it's easily transported.
ben_eat_pie
I've got a potential rig comprising of: Ashdown mag series 1 by 15" combo - 300W http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...mp;#entry402103 And a really nicely build 2 by 10" 300W cab. http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=4152 Great tone off this amp, I'm just a bit bored of it and I've stopped playing indie music - more into experimental. Let me know what you think Ben
Lew-Bass
It looks like a good deal mate but I don't really want a combo Thanks
lemmywinks
I've got a Hartke VX215 for sale for £90 500w @ 4ohms, 2x15" drivers Stick a LH500 on top of that and bob's your proverbial!
Musky
The brands mentioned in your thread about combos are good ones to keep an eye out for. The Ashdown Little Giant 350 can still be had for £200 new as well. As for cabs, there are several in the the for sale section that will fit within your budget - there's a tidy Ashdown lookalike available at a good price at the moment.
