jimbartlett
Hi guys, I've pretty much finished my rig now and I am very happy with it, I hope you like the picture. The Bass shown is my Gibson Thunderbird, the cabs are 2*10, 1*15 and 6*10. Thanks, Jim.

chris_b
I never got on with the 400+ but those cabs are fantastic. this is the rig I used for nearly 10 years, until my back and knees gave up!
William James Easton
i've played/borrowed so many brands in my gig history but i've never played through a mesa rig.

Shaggy
Now that’s what I call a proper bass rig. Gibson + MESA = Rock n’ roll
jimbartlett
Thanks for the word guys. It takes a bit of effort to move it around but once you get the knack of getting it in and out of the van/car, it's not too bad. The volume isn't a problem (believe it or not! ), in the rehearsal room I have the master on about 1 1/2, gigs at about 2 1/2 - 3. The value overdrive tone I can get out of the 400+ is (in my opinion) better than any overdrive pedal I have owned. This rig for me is all in the tone, I love it! I think I might have to start calling it "cloverfield"! Ha ha!

Noisyjon
Here's my rig in its' transitional stage. I no longer have the 2x15 cab, but boy do I miss it's sound! I DO NOT, however, miss humping it in and out of cars/vans/venues though I now also have a Mesa Diesel Roadready 1x15 cab for the 4x10 to pair up with, but no new photo's yet. Cheers, JTB. jimbartlett
Nice JTB, VERY nice! I know I can talk but, that 2*15 looks like it is the heaviest thing since heavy things were invented! I bet it sounded awesome though. Edward, the Probot album is superb isn't it?! Edward, the Probot album is superb isn't it?!
It was like being a furniture removal man! My only problem with it for gigs, etc was that it wasn't very loud close up to the cab. It had about a 6 to 8 feet envelope in front of it that meant for me to turn the amp up loud enough to hear against the drums and guitars meant I was disemboweling the audience The crunch was when we played at the Cartoon in Croydon and a couple of the Girls were at the back of the venue and in line with my rig. They said it made them feel sick 'cos it was so loud. I also really dig the Probot album particularly the Centuries Of Sin & Shake Your Blood songs. Apparently he used a 28" as well on the album. These mesa boogie amps are SOO annoying they make me want to get one!

I guess i'll just have to become a rockstar eh? I know Jay James uses Mesa boogie bass cabs but i was thinking of MarkBass since they're a lot lighter! Maybe i could get one of those 400+ tube heads though... Edited February 10, 2009 by EdwardHimself
