I agree the Peavey looks clunky and assembled rather than designed. The Sri is gorgeous, but I'm afraid I think most Alembics are as tasteless as an ormolu sideboard.

What version is the 2nd WAL with 5 pots. Don't remember seeing them before. I had the 4 pot version in 80's. Prefer the first WAL pic. Very nice and i now have GAS thanks. However, I always fancied the 6-string so will just add this to the mix as well... My first was a headless 6. I’ll have to find a picture.

I had a walnut Custom and a Pro IIE pretty much identical to yours. I really miss the Pro II. I sold it because of the weight, but as I always play seated these days it wouldn’t really have mattered that much. Wish I’d kept it.☹️

Leigh Gorman of Bow Wow Wow plays a passive Pro II. IIRC correctly he’s replaced the neck on his original, used for many, many years, and he now also has an earlier JG with a leather scratch plate. These were made between 78 and 81 - precursor to the “Custom Series”. Mine’s an active Pro IIE.

I agree the bottom horn isn't the most comfortable when seated with the bass - but standing it's the most ergonomic bass ive ever played - super comfortable.
