Aguilar DB 924 bass preamp SOLD £80 Chichester or Worthing, West Sussex

This is basically an outboard, self contained 18v ( two PP9's ) version of the Aguilar OBP1 bass preamp, often fitted to high end basses.

bought it new, yonks ago, only used at home, so pretty unmarked. Still has original box £80 plus postage.

I've been using mine for 10 years and still use it with my Jazz Basses! Amazing transparent and natural-sounding little box and the batteries last forever!

It's gone head to head with the Sadowsky preamp and this won out, for me. Slightly deeper frequency on the bass but somehow tighter sounding, and sweeter and less brittle sounding treble.

It was Alex Aguilar who designed the unit for Sadowsky so they're close but I do like the Aguilar unit. I paired mine with an EWS Bass Mid Control which worked really well.

Is this battery only, or does it have a D.C. input?
