Dubs
Ok, this isn’t strictly Bass related as it’s on a g****r (my ’94 MIM Tele), but it can be directly related to similar era Fender basses and I’ve been wondering about this for a while A lot of the newer Fenders (MIM/MIA/MIJ/etc) seem to have very plain kind of satin/matt finished necks with fairly boring grain patterns and rarely have any figuring, but my Telecaster seems to have some fairly subtle flamed maple figuring (see pics – they don’t capture it that well but what do you think? I’m no pro). Is this usual/unusual for Fenders in general, Fenders from this era, or MIM Fenders? Thought I’d just put this out there cos it’s been on my mind for at least a year… [attachment=19994:DSC02219.JPG] [attachment=19995:DSC02220.JPG] [attachment=19996:DSC02222.JPG]
bigjohn
I've got a MIM precision with a bit of flaming on the back of the neck. my camera phone doesn't pick it up but it is there. It's a 2002.
