MasterZon
Hiya lads, about 11 years ago, I saw a very odd bass in what was then known as A1 music in Manchester. It was a solid bodies Status bass guitar, but it had one F hole carved out of it. It had rubber coated strings, and just two knobs, volume, and tone. I have never seen one since, and it was really nice to play. They wanted £600 for it, as A1 was closing its doors, and everything had to go. I just wish I had bought it, as it made me sound like Herbie flowers. Do you chaps know what guitar I am talking about, and if yes, do you have any info/pics?? There's some pics in the status thread in the Gear Porn Forum. Edited February 9, 2009 by Musky
OutToPlayJazz
The cheapest Electros go for about £300 these days for the early one. Molan (Barrie) just sold one, but I think BigBeatNut has a five stringer he's been interested in shifting for a while.

I don't really have any interest in them but these were expensive basses when they came out. That's a hell of a drop in price and a bit of a bargain if they're your sort of thing. philw
BigBeatNut's Electro was in fact mine before I sold it to him, and sometimes I regret letting it go. The electro is a one trick pony but it's an unusual trick and one that sounds rather marvelous. I'd have another without a doubt - lovely instrument. Phil PS. I bet Rob Green would still make an Electro if you asked nicely and opened your wallet. Edited February 10, 2009 by philw

Just been revised with the single soapbar (as well as the piezo) having been moved from the bridge position, closer to the neck. Nice looking things, now all with graphite necks, of course. Rich.
