Godin have confirmed that this" bass was built in 1990 and does have an internal mechanical harp which consists of 18 tuned metal tines fixed under the bridge."

The Godin Acoustibass was first released in 1990 and is the predecessor to their current A4 model.
The body is a semi-hollow chambered mahogany with spruce top. The long thumbrest allows you to vary your thumb placement on the instrument.
The LR Baggs electronics consist of a piezo bridge pickup and active preamp with 3-band EQ.
These early version Acoustibass models have been said to have far better build quality and tone than the current A4 line.

Inside the body cavity there are a number of 'tines' (the tuned mechanical harp) that vibrate sympathetically when the bass is played and give it a more resonant / acoustic / overtone sound.
