Hope the OP doesn't mind me butting in. These are 90/10 - that is, the neck features a 5 piece laminate (3 x maple + 2 x thru-neck graphite rods). Very, very strong and Uber stable.

Mine is a 1990 model, has perfect relief, crystal clear clarity/sustain and no dead spots.
