BassmanPaul
One thing to bear in mind with Trace stuff is that their amps seem to be rated at peak power. The GP7 300 that I have is in actuality a 150W amplifier. Surprised me all to hell! On top of that the cooling path for this particular amp is very poor. It's a fan blowing on the heat sinks. There is no 'in' or 'out' path for the air.

My Trace amps, a 150 watt and a 200 watt, haven't got a fan at all, just grill type heat sink sticking out of the back
28mistertee
We all know Trace watts are louder 😉
fleabag
Yup, the shock with TE is that they understate the wattage, then everyone gets a surprise when that lowly 150 watts sounds like 500. ( or whatever ) I love myths
BassmanPaul
Just to be clear what I posted is the accurate information on my particular amplifier.

An Ashdown head with a trace cab would be best of both worlds I had a AH 500 into my TE cabs and loved the sound. But when my AH became unrepairabe I was unsure aboout buying another so bought an ABM 500 which I'm very pleased with into the Trace cabs. I've still got an old AH 150 if I want the Trace sound. Quilly
My AH-500-7 is an absolute beast. Sadly its sitting a bit unused lately, I use my CTM-100 and Spyder Ashdown Amps all the time now. I just think they have a warmer, more natural sound.
