ben_eat_pie
Hi there, I'm looking to replace the tube in my Aria tube distortion pedal. The current tube is an electro harmonix 12AY7EH 6027A. First question, is there any difference between this and the 12AY7 6027A? Second question, asre there any other alternative brands/models of valves that would do the same job, without destroying my pedal - and how can I destinguish whether they'll be alright or not? i.e. what am i looking for in a tube? Thanks guys, Ben
ben_eat_pie
This is the alternative tube without the EH http://www.hotroxuk.com/electro-harmonix-1...old-2710-0.html ben
Hamster
They're both pretty mild tubes, the only difference is probably a different shaped heater or something. Unless you really know what you're doing I would just use a replacement with a very similar gain factor, or things might start frying! There's a little guide here for that very valve series:- http://thetubestore.com/gainfactor.html
ben_eat_pie
Thanks for the advice, that gain factor chart is fairly handy! Will just stick with the standard 12ay7's i suppose! Ben
