yes i know, but still the synth sound is pretty much the same for tiro and hysteria, only difference being that chris uses distortion as well for hysteria, and just clean on tiro

anyways all imo

back to the point of the thread i think :) , can people keep posting there settings!!

Hmm, this is a little eerie, just today i did some maths and realised i'm gonna have about a grand spare from my student loan next term, so i've resolved to get one of these (I've wanted one ever since i first heard of them), and at the same time a 2 year old thread gets ressurected....

anywho, may aswell take advantage, are these things actually worth the exorbitant prices? (I've earmarked £300 max) I've heard about power supply problems, bad tracking, software corrupting, some people say it's too subtle etc., would i just be better off ignoring the hype and legend status, getting a EHX Bass Microsynth (I do actually want a synth pedal), and saving £150?

I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on why popular stuff like Deep Impact gets discontinued.
Okay - some stuff gets reissued but not very often.
I contacted Akai some time ago and was just told there were no plans to reissue.
Seems a bit odd as presumably they have all the design and manufacturing information.
Component obsolescence ?

I don't think bass synths are that popular.

Stuff like the Deep Impact achieves a kind of legendary status once they're discontinued, but if they're made available again all the interest seems to evaporate. You still wind up with the old 'the originals were better' comments and it's always the older ones that end up going for big money.
