There's my SM400 (over)powering my home made practice 1x12" cab. Nice.

Yes, as predicted...one speaker in my Baby Blue just fell apart - rubber surround rotted and useless. Time to search for some suitable replacements....

Well i figured since we have a thread for just about every other make of bass amplification in the world we might as well have one of these eh?

They're nothing short of stunning especially considering they're 'only' a 2x10. What a great cab. :D

Not just SWR - my favourite preamps from many years of playing.  The Alembic is from around 1976, Trace is 1984/5 and SWR Studio 220 early 90’s (although I think the design is 1986?).

back in the day.,...loved my Mo-bass and goliaths,

just got to much hassle to cart it around....

Had a load of issues with the latter purchases around 2009/10. Speakers falling apart, horns blowing......shame, I guess I would say I was brand loyalist in the early 00's.

Well, all I own that SWR made is one bass cab, but what cab though! :i-m_so_happy:

So here's my SWR Triad I bass cab, with a Peavey Solo Special 122 160W solid state guitar combo amp, that had it's build in 12" Scorpion guitar speaker disconected, with the Peavey instead hooked up to the SWR bass cab, which 4 Ohm impedance happens to match the speaker output of the Peavey amp, and believe me, while it might not be the most practical setup the Peavey Special guitar amp actually sounds amazing hooked up to a bass cab and used as a bass amp, in the front is my 28,6" scale 5 string Ibanez GSRM25 Mikro Bass, that is strung up with gauge .090 to .030 strings, and tuned 2 half steps above standard E tuning, as in F#1 to D3, and it's 2 stock J pickups wired in series.

Truly love the way this 3 way bass cab sounds, with the output of the high frequency tweeter being adjustable:

mmmmmmm swr,,

i love swr gear.

here is my refurbed Silverado mk2, 350w 2x12 combo.

it has the valve pre in it, and it sounds awsome.

you dont see many of these in the uk, it sounds like a red head only "bigger"

These are extremely well made using only top class components. and yet not alot of people know about them,

but i think its the sleeper of swr gear.

i still have a red head as my main gig combo which i have had for as long as i can remember and also

some extension cabs a 1000w upgraded 2x10 and a son of bertha 1x15.

so have most gigs covered, iv just sold my 6x10 golly and a SM500 as was getting abit big to cart about, and only used for out door gigs really.

Q; Why is the redhead called the red head ???

here ya go

here is some cool history about steve and swr, Enjoy                                                                            https://bassmagazine.com/artists/true-genius-remembering-steve-rabe-and-swr

Silverado 2, dont you just want to lick it 🙂
