HeavyJay
I'm looking to refinish one of my guitars and I think I want to do it sea foam green but looking online for examples there seems to be fairly significant variations. For example these are all from page one of a google image search for "sea foam green bass": http://www.bobknarley.com/bass/telebass001/DSC02596.JPG http://www.stratcollector.com/images/invla...V016150-sea.gif http://www.stratcollector.com/images/invla...c0122194sea.gif http://www.manchesterguitartech.co.uk/imag...-telecaster.jpg http://www.thumperfaq.com/downloads/yamaha...tude%20bass.jpg http://www.rudysmusic.com/images/17.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v217/rho...enP-Bass003.jpg http://www.joetheguitarman.com/86%2057SFG%20STRAT.jpg http://www.beringmusic.com/store/images/Vint%20V6VG_MED.jpg http://www.gpguitars.com/images/IMG_8731.jpg http://www.bobwiremusic.com/images/rongreenbass.jpg http://www.motorera.com/corvette/1950/1958/58green1.jpg Which one is nearest to the colour in real life? And is anyone aware of somewhere in the UK I could order this in aerosol spray lacquer? Manchester Guitar Tech doesn't have this particular colour and reranch don't ship abroad I don't think. Any help and advice would be most gratefully received.
BOD2
You might get some information from these guys http://reranchstore.stores.yahoo.net/fencuscol.html but they don't ship overseas (I suspect there's a genetral problem shipping aerosols by air) In the UK there is this supplier... http://www.manchesterguitartech.co.uk/lacquer.html I think they call it "Surf Green" rather than "Seafoam Green". Remember that the colour you see on your screen is infuenced by the colour balance of the screen and the background lighting.
Delberthot
Plus unless someone has kept their bass in a very controlled enviroment - the original nitro finish has probably turned blue by now. They had a tendency to turn funny colours over time. I'm sure the manchesterguitartech guy offers regular and aged versions. Even if you could find an original Fender colour chart from the 60s - chances are that the colour in the brochure will be well off the mark due to limitations in the printing process. I think the best way forward is to find the one that you like best
