Kenny Rogers

Sad to hear of the passing of Kenny Rogers. The man had a great voice and was an upright bass player in the past with a jazz trio, the Bobby Doyle Trio and with the well known folk act, the New Christy Minstrels (remember one wheel on my wagon?)  He made having a white beard cool.

Always came over as a really nice guy who was very grateful for his career. RIP .

 I just sadly heard of Kennys passing and although I'm no fan of the genre at all, he had a voice that I always found strangely comforting. Even if the subject matter was very dark (Ruby, Don't Take Your Love To Town) his voice would put me in a warm place. 

Rest in peace Mr. Rogers.

There was a web site - "menwholooklikekennyrogers.com" which contained photo's of - men who look like Kenny Rogers!  Sad to hear of his death, he had a voice that could only belong to him.

Pretty good actor too, there was a film based around Coward of The County and he was very good in it.

I watched the documentary about him last year. Fascinating career (which I admit to being completely oblivious of) and extremely talented. He came across as a thoroughly grounded and decent man. RIP
