Cantdosleepy
Hey all, Got an e-mail from a band's manager asking if I want to try out playing bass with them. They're from the BRIT school fame factory place and I've had a listen to their Myspace and they sound ace. Unfortunately they're a) based in Croydon which will be over an hour's commute each way twice a week and all young lads without jobs etc who are 'mainly playing weekends and evenings for now. I'm very flattered to be asked, but of all the bassists in London I'm not sure I'm a great fit for them; location, free time, age and indeed ability-wise. So I'm wondering if this guy has contacted every bassist in London and I'm just getting my head unduly turned here. Sounds exciting, but there are a lot of provisos... Whaddayareckon? risingson
You can but try. Just sell yourself to them and see what happens. I'm in LIPA in Liverpool which was opened by Paul MacCartney and Mark Featherstone-Witty (who opened the Brit School) and I know being part of something like that lends itself to some great opportunities. Go for it ^_^
