Old Horse Murphy
Well this is a first for me. This morning I took delivery of a secondhand Ibanez Fanned Fret Bass (the SRFF805) which is actually my very first Ibanez and my first fanned fret. The multi scale runs from 35.5" on the B to 34" on the G so it's very comfortable. Build quality is excellent and the active/passive eq is really good indeed. Now all I need to do is wait to use it in anger sometime in the (hopefully) not too distant future...
machinehead
A player I know bought one of these a couple of months ago. I tried it and was amazed how easy the fanned frets are to play. As you say, great quality build too. I hope you get a lot of enjoyment from it PV. (Post-virus.) Frank.
CameronJ
Congrats @Old Horse Murphy! Beware though. It’s potentially a gateway drug into the world of multi scale bass. Soon, like me, you’ll have Dingwalls sprouting from every orifice!
dub_junkie
Owned the SRFF806 for about a year. Amazing neck/set up, action was crazy low. Feeling a spot of seller’s regret thinking about how well that bass played😕
Grahambythesea
That’ll feel a bit different to the mustang 😎
