Old Man Riva Posted March 28, 2020 Posted March 28, 2020 I stumbled across this just now and thought I’d share... Not seen it before - and I’m still not sure how on earth he came up with it - but it made me smile all the way through! I know it won’t be to everybody’s taste, but well worth a look as we find bass-related things to fill the time and get us through to the other side. Keep well and (hopefully!) enjoy... https://youtu.be/q9UCBsXI4LI 5 2 Quote

Guest Posted March 28, 2020 Posted March 28, 2020 What a great player. Sad to lose him to ALS, like Mike Porcaro. RIP... Quote
Hellzero Posted March 28, 2020 Posted March 28, 2020 One of the best cover of this tune to date. What a player. Thanks for sharing this @Old Man Riva. May he rest in peace. 1 Quote

lowdown Posted March 30, 2020 Posted March 30, 2020 Lee Sklar posted a link of Victor doing a visual over one of his Coltrane transcriptions. It goes without saying that Victor was a groove monster, but good lord, he had some serious chops!! "Here I'm playing Coltrane's solo from Countdown. This is what I'm trying to teach at Berklee. Not the chops, but knowledge of music and how ALL music works on the instrument". 1 Quote
