I watched a few of Guy’s videos and found them entertaining, especially the anecdotes. I’m not sure he’s in competition with Pino as much as he feels he is? Really surprised he got the MJ gig, not that Guy isn’t up to the job of course. I’m also amazed at some of his output. Plus I’m sure he’s writing skills and affable nature help. Sad to hear that he had a hard time on this forum, that’s very disappointing.

I wish that the amazing John Giblin would do a ‘lockdown licks’ channel. His back catalogue is truly epic!

Disappointed by that, not by Guy, but by the choice of song, which was a popular request. As a bass part (as with most PF) it’s a bit dull IMO. I wonder what GP’s having done to his shoulder, rotator cuff perhaps? Bummer for a stringed instrument player, bummer for anyone really.

It is, but as he said, he is doing it by request and if that is what people want to hear its not unreasonable. There are always going to be orders of magnitudes more PF fans than any of the other groups.

I do think that any of the PF songs should be easy enough to work out, although I still keep trying noto get the original bass line of One Slip to sound right

For me Learning to Fly was interesting to hear only because of Guys fills thru the song live.

He does seem to manage amazing little ad-lib fills when playing live.

I have really enjoyed all of these GP YT vids. Long may they continue!

I remember seeing GP on tv for years back in the 1980's playing bass for various acts before I ever knew his name. Guy's anecdotes and insights are fascinating to me. Love his playing style, too.

Never knew he played with Gary Moore.  Excellent!

I have a Gary Moore, Live at Montreux DVD. Jonathan Noyce is the bassist on the main show, but if I recall correctly there are some bonus tracks of another year's show with Guy Pratt on bass. I think!

I didn’t know he played on that GM album. Just had a listen to it. Not a fan of GM’s singing. Never have been.

The track above feels like it should have had Jimmy Nail singing it (I’m aware of the connection).

Yeah. I looked up the gig he mentioned in the video on YT, are there are various performances from different years.
