EJWW Posted March 29, 2020 Posted March 29, 2020 Hi all, A couple of years ago Bass Guitar Magazine reviewed a fabulous bass which was based on the P bass with 4 strings, a single split coil pickup with just a volume and passive tone control. It was natural finish wood body, and the reviewer gave it a good review. It was around the £1500 mark if I remember correctly. I can't remember the name of the company or model. It wasn't one of the well known firms like Sandberg etc. Anybody else recall this wonderful looking instrument? Quote
ead Posted March 30, 2020 Posted March 30, 2020 I thought it was the Fodera one until I saw your price prompt. They were roughly £185,000 or thereabouts. 1 2 Quote
BigRedX Posted March 30, 2020 Posted March 30, 2020 A Made in the US Fender Precision will cost you about £1500 these days. Quote
Mike Brooks Posted March 31, 2020 Posted March 31, 2020 I think you might be referring to the Rikkers Precision. Mike 2 Quote

Mike That's the one thanks @Mike Brooks This is the one, absolutely lush... Been googling every term I could think of related to a very posh P bass with no luck. 1 Quote
Reggaebass Posted March 31, 2020 Posted March 31, 2020 I remember seeing that , but at the time the price tag put me off, beautiful bass though, and I can’t recall seeing any for sale 🙂 Quote

Wouldn't mind another read of @Mike Brooks BGM review though, can you access old articles online somehow? Quote

Much nicer than most of the ones shown there so far. 2 Quote

NickA Posted April 7, 2020 Posted April 7, 2020 Hmm, never has GAS for a precision before .... £2300 for a passive single pickup bass mind. Still, better value than a beat up 60s fender. Quote
