stoo
Yes, the new Sterlings look nice, but the price is way higher, starting at over £600!
Ouch - just noticed they've appeared on the Strings & Things site - from £689 for the Ray (or from £749 for the 5 string) and from £639 for the Sterling SB (Sterling) Ray34 & Ray35 Bit too strongly priced to be anywhere near tempting for me - At that sort of money, I'd be looking at a used EBMM one... though maybe they'll end up selling for a fair bit less than RRP?
Stoo, if I do bother I'll do the Status graphite neck & get Norstrand pickups/preamp for it as well. Or at the end of the day I may just leave it as it is - The bass only owes me £175 after all!
Bargain!
BLUEAARDVARK
The overly tight string spacing put me off the 5 string. Shame, I'd like to have tried one. But I was thinking of getting something more solid like a Hipshot A style. Just not sure it will fit? I didnt think the bridge was an exact copy of a musicman (and as a result the hole fixtures were slightly different)
Rich
In that case, you probably stand a whelk's chance in a supernova of replacing the bridge without drilling any holes. Your main problems will be maintaining the string spacing and covering up any existing screw holes.

Bargain!
just looking up some OLP info and found out they are no more. I was going to ask if people thought the necks ( I have an MM2 ) were more prone to movement than average. I noticed mine taking a while to settle after truss rod adjustment. I know this is normal but I noticed it's significantly longer than , say, a Westone Thunder 1 and was wondering how big a factor is that the Westone neck is 3 piece laminate whilst the MM2 is one piece ? dlloyd
I'm a bit late here, but I'd say the Sterling range is really aimed at competing with G&L Tribute. Once used Sterlings start filtering through, I'd imagine we'd be talking £300 - £400 for a decent Musicman. I probably will get one.

Still...it's nice that MM are actually bothering to cater for the working class muso. Maybe that's why they fall behind Fender...but with this range...well MM are more modern...I dunno the P and J bass will always be top but MM could become heavily popular with working class muso's with this range.
