Dave Bronze fan here too. Both with Clapton and Eric Bibb.

We played support to Robben Ford a few times in 1991. Roscoes Beck was a very friendly and approachable chap.

Jack Casady (Hot Tuna..?) ...

Why..? A solid grounding in the genre, and great complicity with Jorma, after all the years they've played together. A very versatile player.

Plus tone, tone and more tone 🙂

Check out Travis Carlton- brilliant tone and groove.

A big +1 for this.

I don't often watch anything more than once but this set on Youtube with his Dad, and Gene Coye on drums is beautiful His tone and taste, with a foot in the traditional and a foot in the modern day, is brilliant.

I now have a massive list of new Blues bass players to check out which is great.

if anyone else reads this thread, then please let me know other Blues bass players that might have been left off the list.

Some grest names mentioned.  What about Boz Burrell and Ronnie Lane. Or Jack Bruce.

Can’t believe Jack Bruce isn’t on the list so far.  He’s definitely my biggest influence.

Greg Ridley - Humble Pie

Douglas Allen Woody - Allman Bros and Government Mule

Good call.  I saw Govt Mule a few years ago in London and loved it!  What a solid bass player!

Colin hodgkinson. Remember seeing him on tv with alexis korner. Very unique style that really struck a chord with me - pardon the pun!

I love how he has his stage pass hanging round his knees (8.11 to 8.20) So sweet!

Keith Ferguson, original Fabulous Thunderbirds bass player was outstanding. Great fat tone and always came up with the most un-typical little runs to link chords. Cool attitude too!

I'm not usually a fan of the blues or solo bass but I really liked that 👌
