Clarky
Free to stream on vimeo for the next week. To my mind Charlie Haden elicited perhaps the most beautiful sound ever from a double bass through a combination of his vintage bass, his idiosyncratic technique, his innate sense of melody and his Spiro/Golden Spiral string combination. Interesting, politically-active life too but now sadly no longer with us. https://vimeo.com/399832399 Edited March 30, 2020 by Clarky 1

NickA
It's all country and western so far ( sorry, " Americana" ) but I shall persevere. Doing my German skills some good at least, as keep trying to read the ( grossly inaccurate) sub titles. Well spotted.

The C&W section is only the set-up for the first 15 or so mins as it relates to his very young years. Once he heads to music school it gets very interesting. Its an incredibly wide ranging documentary. Do persevere! Edited April 2, 2020 by Clarky
miles'tone
That was brilliant thanks! What a lesson on just how to be. Cool guy. So revealing to watch his left hand technique, quite unorthodox but he definitely found a way to play that suited his body and used great economy of effort. I need to watch it again to take more in! That jam he had with Keith Jarret was a treat too. Wonderful. Thanks Clarky. 👍
