Mizzle
Hi guys 1st post, I am looking at a small head/cab idea for smaller venues/practice with the ability to use the head as a backup if my bigger rig (SVT & NV610) decides to fail me (please don't). I have tried the Shuttle 6.0 out and read a lot of reviews and think it is a very good head so at the moment i am biased towards that (unless someone else can tempt me to another head Walkabout or LM2) I am thinking a 112 will be my best bet as i could add another (down the line) if the volume was not enough but for now something fairly light and puts out a decent volume with good tone. The combinations that i have picked so far below (any opinions on the combinations)? Shuttle+NEOX112 Shuttle+Berg AE112 Shuttle+Berg HT112ER
Delberthot
I use a Shuttle and a Schroeder 1212L for everything, whether as my backline or out front sound and its never let me down. I think BassFerret uses the shuttle with 2 12" Genz cabs.
chris_b
I believe that the guys on Talkbass have compared the GB Shuttle and MB LM11 and rate the Markbass as louder, bassier and warmer. There was an Epifani UL502 for sale here awhile ago. I would check that out first!

lowfer
Hi there, i have just bought my self a LMK11 and an aguilar db112. I am over the moon, so much variation on tone with the head. The sound froam the cab is like liquid chocolate, smooth and creamy and as heavy as you want it to be, or as punchy and cutting as you want. Not played a shuttle so can't comment. Bought it through bass direct and they did me a cracking deal and provided an excellent service. There is a picture on the amps and cabs thread http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=38167 here's the link if you want to have a look would highly recomend Nathan
eude
I've got a Mark Bass LittleMark 250 and an Aguilar GS112 and it's surprisingly loud, but I wish I could've got the grown up LittleMark. The Mark Bass head is very transparent, to my ears. I have two quite different sounding basses and their voices speak very clearly through this set up. I believe the Aguilar DB range have a thicker, more low mid range sound and look a bit cooler, but I can't really complain about the GS range at all, plenty of bass considering it's just a wee 12" speaker! Cheers, Eude
Raggy
Hartke LH500? Sounds awesome through a Berg NV610 as a back up to my GK. Gonna get some smaller cab/cabs for lightweight rig. Edited February 20, 2009 by Raggy
MartyBRebelMC
i use a markbass 121p combo and find it more than adequate for rehearsing, however if looking for a lightweight cab to partner a small high powered head check out http://www.barefacedbass.com/, the guy who runs it is a contributor on here and is very helpful. He makes a cab called the compact, single 15in...small cab and very light.
bass_ferret
Yes I use a Shuttle 6.0 and 2 NeoX112T cabs. Sometimes I only plug the top cab in. I like it a lot. Given the cabs you are considering then a trip to Bass Direct may be in order. The NeoX and Berg HT do sound very different and I cant say which you would prefer. The NeoX is much lighter despite what the specs say. I have not tried the Berg AE cabs.
