zigmondo
Hey Rich, nice to see you again; I wouldn't have even known of these basses' existence were it not for 2 of our stalwarts on the boards...speaking of whom: yes Pete= yours IS the amboyna top, is it not? BassBod: where you buddy? Bath?
GreeneKing
Yes Shaun that's mine (I forget it's in my avatar - doh). It's my dream bass made real to be honest. Very similar in spec to yours but 1 string less. Peter Edited February 19, 2009 by GreeneKing
OutToPlayJazz
Can someone explain to me what the four stacked controls do on an ACG? Rich.
GreeneKing
1. Volume/blend 2. Low pass filter/cut off frequency resonant peak for neck pup 3. Low pass filter/cut off frequency resonant peak for bridge pup 4. High pass filter/cut and boost for both pups. There's a few threads on operation here, on Talkbass and on Alan's site. The aftermarket ACG02 only has one low pass filter for both pups. I've just fitted one to my Spector that also has a passive tone control. feel free to pm me if you need to know more. zigmondo
Like wot Pete said! There's further tweakability with no. 4 above, in that you can assign via the circuitboard-mounted "pot" which pup receives most(or all or none) treble filtering. I personally find(like with Stati) that there's more than enough resident treble lurking about anyway; I've never felt the need for this control myself...and given the coil-splitting options, things can get blue-rizla-paper thin I guess.. 7string
Cool bass The ACG pre does take a while to get your head around, but it's worth putting the effort in.
