waynepunkdude
I'm putting a new volume pot in and the one I have is 500k will it make a big difference as the one I'm taking out is 250k?
YouMa
If you want the same range of volume sweep i think you will need a pot closer to the original value.
waynepunkdude
Will the output still be the same on full?

YouMa
If you just want straight loud or quiet it will be fine, as the value is more than the original.
waynepunkdude
Cheers guys, it's wired in now but I'm getting a slight overall volume drop when I turn it up with other pick up, is that right>
YouMa
Unless its an emergency i would just get a hold of one with the original value.Dont worry about it causing any damage or anything, like i said befor the sweep on the volume will be altered slightly with a bigger value mate. Its a cool hobby, bit frustrating when things dont work, but i have now even managed to flog a couple to guitarists. Al Heeley
Heres a couple of Tubescreamer clone PCB's in progress - got the bug rekindled a few months ago. This sounds bloody marvellous! One of the sweetest harmonic distortion pedals I have come across. The original (Ibanez) tubescreamers were seen by some as the holy grails of distortion stompboxes. Apologies for hijacking your thread!
waynepunkdude
You 2 are far ahead of me, I still have trouble making the wire stay on the back of the pot to ground it.

[/quote] Are you using transfer paper to do your pcbs or just an etch resistant pen, apparently you can use the iron method with staples photo paper, although i have not tried it yet.By the way cheers for those drawings al. Al Heeley
No prob Marcus. I tried the laser print paper method and iron but in the end reverted to good old etch resist pen and those letraset transfer holes (seno) where I could be bothered.
