fiatcoupe432
Hi guys, what is your opinion on graphite truss rod vs steel rod? I'm talking fretless here đ Â they affect sound? Playability? fiatcoupe432
I'm that makes sense! Does it change sound and playability? Â
itu
There are necks that do not have truss rod at all, like earlier graphite necks. Vigier has wood necks with carbon stripes, but not truss rod. Rickenbacker has wooden neck-through-body and two truss rods. The constructions vary, but the effect to the sound stays unclear. Main idea is, after all, to produce a stabile and playable neck.
Mykesbass
My Shuker is incedibly stable. Don't even need to tune it! (Seriously, I have often gone to tune it just because that's what you do before playing, and it is always spot on). Neck has never moved, even with a change of string tension. As for sound, I'm afraid I'm in the "it's all in the pickups/fingers" camp. The SHuker construction is as @Jus Lukin describes.
