photographymatt
what it says on the tin really, I have a boss micro BR and I want to download the tracks(.br files, iv read I can convert them using a free boss program) into a program thats easier to arrange the songs. Free is better as this is just for fun and getting ideas down but willing to pay. thanks all again matt h

Eight
For free (kinda) I can recommend Reaper. I've used it for a long time running off a memory stick so when at work (and noones looking) I can have a muck around using some soundfonts for instruments. On an installation with more storage, you could use proper VST/VSTIs etc. for good sounds. Works fine with ASIO etc. etc. and has full audio and midi recording blahdeblah. Basically, the core of what you need. Edit: There's also the studio on every disk of Computer Music magazine which is ok. I think those two options are better than the packages you would be buying for less than £100 so save your money unless you want to go higher end. You can always use those £££s to buy virtual instruments (like Drumkit From Hell for drum sounds) Edit: If you decide to buy something at any point - Sonar is the way to go. Or Ableton Live, I like that one too for different reasons. Edited February 20, 2009 by Eight
lowdown
Go down the route as above.... And spend a little on a decent audio card.. Something like this, which is good value for money.
