MOTU 828 mk2 Firewire Audio Interface FS/FT £300 posted

Recommended Posts

Having a re-jig of the home recording set-up and I've decided to let this go as my POD x3 provides sufficient input for what I need right now.

Full details are here http://www.motu.com/products/motuaudio/828mkII/ although note that I'm selling the firewire version, not a USB one (the firewire version retailed at about £200 more than the USB version).

Basically it's a multi-input recording interface allowing you to record up to 10 independent analog audio signals (2 x combined XLR/jack, 8 x jack) with the ability to handle an additional 8 x ADAT tracks and 2 x S/PDIF tracks for a total of 20 inputs (plus MIDI in and out).

There are 8 analog outs which can be used as a through signal for the 8 jacks in, or in pairs to provide 4 monitor mixes. There's also the main stereo outs and phones out, each of which is independent.

In simple terms, there's a whole bunch of ways the ins and outs can be routed and used and you can control the routings either from the front panel or via software on the machine. In fact, this thing is so clever, you can use it completely standalone as a mixer in a live situation, especially good for monitor mixes.

This is an amazing bit of kit which will enhance pretty much anyone's studio set-up and it comes with a decent length firewire cable too so it doesn't have to be sited right next to your machine.

Looking for £300 posted in the UK (was £325), might consider trades for bass gear (Jap P or J for instance).

One of these sold on eBay recently for £360 without the Firewire cable!
