bassaussie Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 Cort did something like this with a Precision bass back in the 80s. I found this link fairly easily, so I'm sure a Google search would pull up more results. http://www.bass-guitar-museum.com/bass-108...ar-Parts-Repair They also did a guitar based on a Strat body. I don't think either was a huge success, but it shows that the idea has certainly been around for a while. I own an original Steinberger, and I used to gig with one some years back, and while the small body comes across as being quite convenient, I have to admit that it's not the most comfortable shape to get along with, even with the body contour plate that's attached to the back. With that in mind, I could see why someone would like to have the convenience of a headless design combined with a more traditional (and I think more comfortable) body shape. Quote
Rogerio Rosario Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 that fender body look to BIG ,with the headless neck ! that why some of the headless bass we see , have a small body . the 2 things(body & Neck) need to look that are made for each other i guess www.MakeMusicNews.com Quote
Ballie Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 Looks a great idea man, though I can see a lot of traditionalists are going to be deeply upset!! Nah it sounds a great idea, that should have been the Fender Mark King signature model instead of the blue one with a head! Quote
