Hoicked up that high, it does look like one of the most uncomfortable basses I've ever seen...a full gig with your left hand stretched out at head height? Ouch...

Still a fantastic bass tho...but I know I'd hardly ever gig it...

. . . .  I'm not one of the Zombies. . . .

I met Chris White a couple of times. He "managed" a band I was in.

 In the first two bars?

I assumed that that was Neil Young's guitar (or maybe his rear end).

This is the DB track that just makes me shiver all over, straight out of the blocks, no waiting: the wonderful Danny Thompson...

Aye, that’s Neil huffing away on Old Black. It’s a bass-free zone at that point.

Are you sure? It sounds very different when he digs in to the Am chords

I know envy's a terrible thing, but what I wouldn't give to even play just one of those Alembics... he must have a very good job 😄

He is a pro bass player.

Danny Thompson is brilliant.  Also, I've seen his son drum for Hawkwind.

Most definitely not....

Ta, I just read about him on't interweb. I was sure I read in one of the comics years ago that He & Alembic designed one of the first 5s with Hi C. But yeah All Bios say "First 5 with low B".

Think how He could solo with an extra string... !!!  (Insert Ducks-down EMOJI) LOL 🤣

Flim has played some nice solos over the years but he really excels in the accompanying role. Check of the first three Wayne Johnson Trio albums (Arrowhead, Grasshopper and Everybody's Painting Pictures'). Great tone but really creative playing.
