RobF Posted April 13, 2020 Posted April 13, 2020 I've waited for this model to be available, I've got a thing about the scroll headstock, it now is, and I've ordered it. right or wrong ? Anyone got one ? Quote
RobF Posted April 17, 2020 Author Posted April 17, 2020 I guess that is a no then . It arrives next Tuesday. Quote
knirirr Posted April 18, 2020 Posted April 18, 2020 It would be interesting to know how it turns out. I did consider one for similar reasons but ended up scoring a s/h Warwick Triumph instead. Quote
TheKcrimsonKing Posted April 18, 2020 Posted April 18, 2020 I just saw Thomann discontued their old EUB500's and are now making these new ones that kind of resemble Stagg's and Aria's, I'm looking for a double bass for quiet practice at he moment, I'd be very interested to see what it's like and what it comes with. RobF Posted April 21, 2020 Author Posted April 21, 2020 Well it came in a box over 6 foot long, it's very black and very tall. I'm not sure what I expected, but it is better. Scroll head is superb. I will begin learning to play it tomorrow. 1 Quote

ezbass Posted April 21, 2020 Posted April 21, 2020 (edited) Ooh, I missed this earlier, colour me interested. However, as @Teebs points out... Although, worthless seems harsh. 😁 Edited April 21, 2020 by ezbass Quote
RobF Posted April 21, 2020 Author Posted April 21, 2020 (edited) Quick one taken in the dark , it arrived 'set up' for rockabilly, with an action higher than I've ever seen ( obviously needed) with a bow but no arrows ! Edited April 21, 2020 by RobF Dimmest 4 1 Quote
6feet7 Posted April 22, 2020 Posted April 22, 2020 Looks lovely. I've been looking at getting an electric upright as my double bass is a bit big for some situations, and looking at Youtube reviews this sounds a lot more double bass(ish) than some other well known makes at three to four times the price. Shame they don't do a 5 string version Quote
TheKcrimsonKing Posted April 23, 2020 Posted April 23, 2020 Ooh fab, did it come with a German or French style bow? Quote
RobF Posted April 24, 2020 Author Posted April 24, 2020 I only know it's not a proper English longbow ! Quote

KaiK Posted November 17, 2020 Posted November 17, 2020 Please show picture of the pegbox. Your G and D strings did not cross as mine do. Quote
MacDaddy Posted June 29, 2024 Posted June 29, 2024 Rather than start a new thread I'll add to this. Just to say I'm really liking the look of these, and like that they come with a bow. £500 new is a bit steep for me to buy one on a whim, but I'll look out for s/h. 1 Quote
