jbn4001
Hi, been lurking for a while. Good site going on here for fellow bass obsessives. I am in the market for a NEW Fender Jazz V 2008 (American Standard. Passive). I hear /read - that the 2008 models are particularly good.. and I've also read in the past that older Fender Jazz Vs are not that great. Well, I'd like to try a new one. Where in the South East / London can I try one of these in person? Several shops round my way haven't got any in, and none will get me one in unless I actually commit to buying (unseen/tried!) Also - has anyone tried one of these - is the string spacing the same or narrower than the 4, and is the neck thin (in depth) like a Jazz 4? TIA for any advice given. Hamster
Do you class Bognor Regis as being in the South East? - http://www.guitarandampshop.co.uk/acatalog...azz_Basses.html
dave_bass5
Hi mate, and welcome to BC. One idea is you could order one from Thomann's. If you dont like it you can send it back and get a full refund. Ive done this a few times without any trouble. In fact i got my 2008 P5 from them last year. While they arent the cheapest they do this 30 day, no questions asked money back guarantee so i felt safe knowing if i didn't like it i could send it back. You just tell them you want to send it back, they give you an authorisation email and you just call up UPS and they come and pick it up. Im not suggesting you do this if you dont intend to buy it but it does allow you to try it without risk. If you want to come round and try my P5 your welcome to. I believe the Jazz V and P5 have the same neck. Im in central London.
