Tascam Bass Trainer woes

Something strange going on with my Tascam Bass Trainer - every time I play or note or touch the strings for that matter, I get a feint whoosh in my headphones. It sounds just like (sea) waves lapping up on the beach (and no, I haven't been smoking) and comes and goes with each note.

I've tried different headphones / leads but it still does it.

Any ideas?

Have you got any of the built-in FX switched on ? Check through the menus and switch off everything just to make sure it's not one of the FX set to a wierd setting.

Have you got the "prog rock" button switched on?

If that doesnt work it does have a reset button, but make sure you've copied your music somewhere 1st as you'll have to reload it.

Bloody hell - how stupid am I? I've been using the thing every day for the last 3 years and I never realised it had a reset button. I'll put my glasses on and have a butcher's tonight.

I also noticed this on my CDBT1 MKII (which doesn't have a reset). I don't get it on the MPBT1. Yet.
