Cabal
I've always loved Primus/Claypool, but this album just takes the biscuit. Anyone into it? Cheers, Jake M Edited February 23, 2009 by Cabal

Dmanlamius
Yea, it's great...! Wish he would come back over these parts again. Was lucky enough to see Primus twice, but i'd like to see him with his newer bands as well...

NancyJohnson
I bought Pork Soda when it came out, but at the time it wasn't for me, so I let it go. I've been listening to a lot of Primus on Spotify recently and I'm really growing to love his playing, although his voice is a little hard going, but I can work past it. It's worth it. Russ
I'm a huge Primus fan, but I just haven't been able to get into Les' post-Primus output... it just doesn't do it for me. It's weird - I should like it, but I just don't. I can't connect with it.
ped
Me too Russ. It feels a bit like he is going through the motions now. I don't know, I can't put my finger on it. I gave OWAW a single listen and haven't listened since...

I've loved Les & Primus since we managed to clear the front room at a party by having Seas of Cheese & Frizzle Fry on at the pain threshold with about 4 of us musos utterly caned and crying wth laughter. Whales is the natural progression, in my opinion.
ped
I am going to have to give it another listen!
Rich
I've tried to like Les, really I have. I had Seas of Cheese for ages, and tried hard to enjoy it. But no. Drives me up the wall. Still, vive le difference eh?
cheddatom
Rich, have you heard Anti-Pop? I think it's generally more commercial/easy to listen to. I love my Primus live DVD, I wish I had seen them live.

I'm a big fan of Primus and Les Clayppol. I've been waiting for him to come and play in the uk for ages, i might missed him but it seems like the UK is not such a big number on his list (Apart from promoting his film of course)
51m0n
Love Suck on This, Frizzle Fry, Sailing The Seas the it starts to go down hill for me........... But he is at or very near the top of the list of my fav bassists of all time, and definitely my fav singing bassist.

jmesa
Just listened to the new album.. it's almost to quirky for me. Not sure what to make of it yet... Love Claypool and everything he's done, but most of this sounds like quirky cartoon soundtrack music.. (like Robot Chicken, Mushroom Men etc) Probably a grower! BigBeefChief
I hate joke music. "Quirky" for the sake of it. Like those fat rough birds I see on the tube each morning with green-hair, weird tights and peirced faces.
steve
listening to OFOF now, first track is very remeniscent of Dr Seuss. My wife will hate this when I inflict upon her in the car later (and all subsequent shopping trips hereafter)
