BassMunkee
I wouldn't leave it lying around with the jack in either - or you'll be spending some wedge next having the socket and/or the surround replaced. Oh AND, what's the point of spending money buying a Nikki Sixx signature bass and then removing the Nikki Sixx signature scratchpad. I don't get that... but there we go... Like I said I love the fact it has an ebony fretboard (normal Thunderbird IV is rosewood) and it has solid figured maple body wings whereas a normal Thunderbird IV has Mahogany wings making the sixx sig sound brighter (which I love!). The price fyi was the same as a regular thunderbird IV at € 1599. The only finish yuo can get nowadays with the regular Thunderbird is vintage sunburst which is not my style, I like the black cherry over figured maple a lot better so there you go. BTW been playing the hell out of this bass this weekend, the only flaw I could find was that the action on the lower E string was somewhat too low since I have rattling problem when fretting the first 3 frets, but this will be an easy fix with a slight truss rod adjustment. Other than that it's the absolutely best sounding bass I have ever played, it really sounds huge. Those TB plus PU's have some mighty punch especially if you considder they are passives. FWIW I was going to get an Epiphone Thunderbird Gothic at one point but gave up after waiting 4 months for it - turned out to be a good thing in the end as I ended up with an Ibanez ICB200EX which is fekkin' glorious... I am not shure about the epi birds but i heard good things. The Gibson destroys though, seriously...
