Went for a greyish stealth mop, so stealthy that you can hardly see them on the 3rd and 5th fret! Doh. Thats natural material for you. Might drill them out and try another two but dont want to mess things up!

This is looking good. Just 1 question; if there isn't an ugly routed channel in the body between the pup routs and the control cavity,  why have a pickguuard covering so much of the wood?

I just really like the look of pickguards, natural bass look odd to me without one.

Can I just ask, what's the distance between the 2 pickups, and how did you arrive at this dimension?

Looked at some pictures on line and guessed it! I wanted the J pup in more of a seventies position.

Thanks very much. Bet you could.👍

I have built guitars out of parts bought on the internet but I just don't have the know how to make a guitar neck. Apart from that I don't have workshop space. I think I will leave it to the pros.

It is all together and playing rather nicely. Really pleased as this is the first neck I have done to completion.

Tuning with the spalted beech neck seems stable, maybe the 2 6mm graphite rods are helping.

I have resisted tearing the film off the pick guard and puting the screws in in case I need to tweak it at all.

Thank for all the positive comments throughout the thread.20200604_184218.thumb.jpg.ca73db38511225a437074f73fce9c7aa.jpg
