I'd suspect the integrity of any glued joints (like the three-piece body) & wonder about the state of the truss rod. If the latter's fine it should be salvageable. Seriously - that would cost you a lot more to fix than you could buy a nice '78 vintage Musicmaster bass for - in perfect condition! In fact there's a nice looking '77 on eBay now for £400.
