Alun Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 Hi all. I took part in this year's RPM Challenge, where you have to record an album's worth of music in February, and the results are now available for streaming and downloading HERE It's not a "bass solo" album ( although there are some, and tracks 2 and 10 are solo bass improvisations), in fact three songs don't even have any bass on them For those who like to know the basses used on the tracks were... 1. Squier VM Jazz for main part, Cort Curbow 6 for solo 2. Cort Curbow 6 3. Squier VM Jazz 4. No bass 5. Squier VM Jazz 6. No bass 7. No bass 8. Alden violin bass 9. NS Wav electric upright*, Cort Curbow 6 10. Cort Curbow 6 * I'm really pleased with the tone on the Wav. The DI'd sound was too piezoy so I added a little reverb and low end boost and got a pretty realistic "acoustic" tone If you're a Last.FM user, it's also HERE Cheers Alun Quote
dr.funk Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 Only listened to the first three but they sound great. I love the sound of the curbow on 2, nice bit of reverb on it as well, not too much. Squier jazz sounds pretty good. Best of luck with the RPM challenge. I have always wanted to enter, maybe some year I will have the time! Quote
The Funk Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 (edited) Only just started listening to Sunrise but I can already say I love this! EDIT: Urban Skunk is wicked too! Edited March 1, 2009 by The Funk Quote
