waynepunkdude
Hi guys I'm doing a fretless project tomorrow see here, anyway the neck holes don't line up with the body holes. Do I drill new holes in the neck or sand the pocket until they line up?

Drill them out to the appropriate size up and glue in the dowel. Cut/sand flush and redrill.

waynepunkdude
I'm drilling fresh holes I don't need to use dowels do I?
stoo
Depends - how close are the new holes going to be to where the old ones were?
waynepunkdude
About an inch.
GreeneKing
About an inch.
What's the scale length going to be when you've finished Wayne? This is how I did my Warmoth, much better than wood screws imo. stoo
Ah right - I'd imagined they'd be much closer than that. Should be OK then. As for the drill bit size - it wants to be as close to the same size as the shaft of the threaded portion of the screw as possible - the threads should be cutting into the wood, but the shaft itself should have a snug fit. Slightly too small is better than slightly too large, obviously.
What's the scale length going to be when you've finished Wayne? Bit OTT unless you're planning to remove the neck a lot though...
waynepunkdude
I think they are 4.0mm screws so I'll use a 3.5mm bit. Cheers guys.
