Uncle Balsamic Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 Here's my new ABI. Pictures aren't great, but hey... Quote
Al Heeley Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 They are really lovely basses, looks like a nice narrow spacing at the nut, for a 5-string. Is the AB1 an active or passive? Quote
flychris Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 Those ABI are interesting me more and more ... I don't know what could be the feeling with fanned frets, but I would like to test them ... Quote
Uncle Balsamic Posted March 2, 2009 Author Posted March 2, 2009 Thanks guys. The bass is passive, and the fanned frets are practically unnoticeable when you are playing. I've gone from having played only 30" scale basses to this 37"-34" with no problem, and boy does it sound good. Quote
josh3184 Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 thats absolutely beautiful! Been mini-GASing for a dingwall for a while (in the same way one would GAS for a ritter, i.e. not gonna happen for some time...) Quote
Ghosts Over Japan Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 WOW! thats like a perfect bass in a perfect colour! wanted one of those for a while but I think the Clover has to come first when I find a job! Quote
steve Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 great looking bass, I really like the bridge. I had a try of a fan fretted bass at the harrogate BB and the frets weren't as disorientating as I was expecting Quote
peted Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 That looks great. It isn't doing any favours making the wait for my custom fanned fret bass any easier! Is that your first fanned fret bass? How are you finding the stretch on the 37" side? Quote
velvetkevorkian Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 One of the few bass brands I have a strong desire to try. That's a cracker. Quote
silverfoxnik Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 That looks amazing, disorientating, but amazing! Quote
