Not usually a fan of LED's, but just the side dots is tasteful and not overly flashy. Nice!

It is a Zebrano top with Swamp Ash back and weighs in at only 8lbs

I cannot believe just how good it is to play, I also have an older Energy Matrix bass and there is simply no comparison between the two, if ever the corny description of "it plays itself" could apply then this is the case.

It is the most I have ever spent on a bass but, so far, it looks, feels and sounds to be worth every penny!

Status basses are amongst the best in the World. I remember way back when we were starting to get busier gigging, I wanted a new bass. My mate said that young guy that plays with Pink Floyd (Guy Pratt) plays Status basses and I thought that's what I need to get. I paid £1100, which was a lot at the time, for a Status Eclipse in black burst. What a guitar! It gigged with me for years and bears the scars of many an adventure. I still have it.

That is lovely. I recently sold an early series 2. I had a series 4000 back in the 90s and loved it.

I dont really gig much on bass these days but if I did, I would seek out another

All I can say is thanks a lot pal. I was minding my own business noodling away with my 14 basses and now I have GAS for ANOTHER Status bass! We don't even gig anymore these days!

Just succumb- if you think about it, you have 14, when you are playing one there are only 13 sat there, not only is that unlucky, but one of them won’t have a pal to chat to - get another to bring balance to the force, and make it a Status

I keep trying to offload some but then I think nah, it's got sentimental value and nothing gets moved. 🤨

I am with you on this - I have too many. The bought ones are rare, not classic or unicorns, but rare enough that since I bought them I haven’t seen another come up, and some others are bitsa’s I have done, or ones I have carved/made. I made them specifically for stuff I like and hence don’t want to let them go - I fear expansion is the only way like a good middle age man’s waistline

I always keep telling myself "The chances of finding another lefty version of this and that bass are slim, hold on to it" so I can rarely bring myself to sell anything... Last week I even bought back a bass I previously owned 😳

Neck looks carbon fiber, but what is the fretboard made from?  Is the fretboard composite?

Yes, whatever they call it, it's bakelite or simply put polyoxybenzylmethylenglycolanhydride.
