donslow
Hey all, Trying to keep this brief, lockdown = boredom boredom = guitar build on a “what have I got laying around” budget I’ve now sprayed the body with some wilko own brand spray paint (a can and a half of light, misting coats over a period of three days) roll on four weeks later and it’s STILL not drying or going hard, finger nail marks are easy to do and it marks easily enough with the creases of my hands, if I hold any part of it I can’t work out why or how I can get around It?! im wondering if I cover it in a quick drying clear coat whilst it’s still in this state, would that work?! or would it be best to start again and choose a different colour with some proper quality paint?! any help or advice anyone can give would be great may appreciated
hooky_lowdown
Did you not check out videos on YouTube? I wanted to paint a body, but it takes several weeks to dry and that's with quality paint. I don't have the patience. So didn't do it.
donslow
To be honest, no. ive repainted guitar bodies in the past with “proper guitar paint” before and they’ve normally been rock hard in less than two weeks. following all the same processes this time but with the cheaper wilko paint I couldn’t understand why it’s not hardening, didn’t know if it was me or the paint :-s maybe your right, I should learn a bit more patience
