Clarky Posted May 8, 2020 Posted May 8, 2020 (edited) I have fond memories of Sid, my 70RI CIJ Precision from my first punk band Kismetik, a decade or so back. Nice narrow, almost J-like nut width and neck, and my fave style of Fender P logo. So when I spotted this pretty rare, late 1990s surf green edition online I dived in. Also I have been under pressure from Mrs C (who ranks basses purely based on colour) to replace 'Minty', my now-sold 62RI surf green Jazz ... oh and @Happy Jackwouldnt sell me his surf green 54P Lull. Well thats my list of excuses ... Edited May 8, 2020 by Clarky 16 Quote
Sandypjb Posted May 8, 2020 Posted May 8, 2020 Like the look of that - and it restored the household harmony 😄 1 Quote
Lozz196 Posted May 8, 2020 Posted May 8, 2020 Nice one Clarky, I remember the sounds you got with Kismetik, it’s only sensible to be able to recreate those minty tones again. 1 1 Quote
howdenspur Posted May 8, 2020 Posted May 8, 2020 That is very lovely and yes, minty. Always fancied a P or a Thunderbird in this... 1 Quote
GuyR Posted May 9, 2020 Posted May 9, 2020 Lovely looking bass. I like that your wife is an "enabler" I was very tempted by your AVRI and surprised it took a while to find a buyer. 1 1 Quote
Geek99 Posted May 9, 2020 Posted May 9, 2020 I wish mine was an enabler .... of time off chores to practice 1 Quote
stewblack Posted May 9, 2020 Posted May 9, 2020 (edited) I am really warming to this cool fresh colour. For years I assumed if a bass was neither black nor red then it must have been painted as a practical joke. So shallow was my taste. What I failed to realise was how much I limited my GAS with such a narrow minded attitude. This is a particularly beautiful example. Edited May 9, 2020 by stewblack 1 Quote
