Thunderthumbs Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 I'm no octopus, so don't think I'll bother. Quote

bumnote Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 I have enough bother with just 1 neck and 4 strings You wont be worried about a lightweight rig if you can carry that Quote
steve Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 complete and utter waste of someones time and resources. Quote
josh3184 Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 a good forest died to make that monstrosity... Quote

It can't be physically possible to play the lowest neck, surely, unless the strap was so short that you couldn't see over the top of the body? Quote
joe_bass Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 How about they attempt to make one decent guitar instead of 6 pieces of fire wood? Quote
warwickhunt Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 I agree 6 necked guitars are absolutely STUPID... 5 necks, now that's a different matter! Quote

If I only had to play an instrument for one song and then a roadie would stagger away with it, I'd manage somehow. Quote
hubrad Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 'Because we can'! I particularly like the description - 'Forth Neck Is 4 String Bass Neck Two Large Bass Pick Ups Provide Great 5 String Sound' .. Wonder if they sell those pickups as aftermarket fit? Actually, we had one of these (different name but same everything else) in the shop for a short while, left by a rep as a Showpiece. Physical impossibility and they missed several possibilities given 6 necks to go for. Ho hum! Quote
solo4652 Posted March 5, 2009 Author Posted March 5, 2009 I particularly liked this in the ad; "Item does not come with a hard case"! Excuse my naivety, but does this thing really exist? or is it a photoshop creation? Quote

It's working! Quote
skankdelvar Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 I've seen a few of these floating around - mostly retailers putting them in the window for a bit of p'zazz. Or pfooey... Quote
Rich Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 Three of those necks are totally redundant anyway. It's got to be just a shop window marketing exercise. Load of old knob. Now this is more like it... Quote
Delberthot Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 (edited) hernia, bad back, osteopath etc I've got deja vu. Have I said that before? Edited March 7, 2009 by Delberthot Quote

[/quote] IIRC wasn't that bass owned by Roger Newell who used to edit/write for 'Bassist' magazine and who was in Rick Wakeman's touring group? Quote
KevB Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 The original might have been from Newell but I think the one in that photo might be the copy that Chris had made, maybe the original was getting a bit past it. Quote
