This video lesson is perfect for bassists who are wanting to explore and start playing jazz.

I talk you through the chord sequence, give you some great ideas of what to play and then you can jam to the backing track.

Free PDF available in the video description with standard notation & tab.

Sorry, but that's an iconic bassline and you have played it incorrectly.  It doesn't change at bar 5; it stays the same.
Here's your homework for this week! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-488UORrfJ0

I think he's just using the basic groove and putting into a 12 bar format. Blues is all about improvisation.

If you watched the lesson then you would have noticed me saying that we are jamming round the solo section NOT playing under the melody (where bass remains on G under the C7 chords as you pointed out)

In the solo section it’s perfectly acceptable to move the groove to C.

Dear Greg,

I've just seen your great YouTube lesson for "All Blues". Unfortunately, I failed to get access to the free PDF. Tried it with two different e-mail-accounts, but none worked.

May I ask you to send it to me? Here's the adress:

[email protected]

Thanks in advance!

Yours, Tim (with kind regards from Berlin, Germany)

Hi Tim

I have just emailed you the PDF. Sorry that the first email didn’t come through. Not sure what happened there. Cheers Greg
