jezzaboy
Bought one of these new short scale basses a couple of weeks ago from a local shop. I have owned quite a few ibbys in the past and they have all been good basses with no probs. The thing is, this one sounds knid of boomy, its the only way I can describe it. Its especially noticeable when you play the E on the bottom string at the 12th fret, it doesn`t sound right to me at all, very, very boomy. It sounds okay over the rest of the neck I took it back and they gave it a pro set up as it was a wee bit buzzy, no more buzzing but it still dont sound right to me. It sound a bit like a Epi eb3 I had 2 years ago. Does anyone else have one of these and if so how`s it sound? Is it because it`s a short scale? I rehersing on tues and am going to give our guitarist a shot and see what he thinks but any opinions would be appreciated. Jez

Jez
I had an Ibanez AGB200 semi-hollow and it did have a touch of boom on certain parts of the neck...I assumed that it was part and parcel of the design.
