ClassicVibes
Can anyone recommend me some new strings for my Jazz? It is currently strung with Fender 7250s. I'm after a roundwound in 40-100 gauges which has a hex core. I play mostly rock and blues, 95% fingerstyle. Ta!
BigRedX
Warwick Red Label. Excellent value for money and surprisingly long-lasting.

Yep, switched to these from Rotosound, similar sound, at least twice if not three times the life span. And at lower cost.
ClassicVibes
Any non stainless steel alternatives?

Warwick Red Label Nickel's https://www.gear4music.com/Guitar-and-Bass/Warwick-46210-Red-Label-Medium-Light-Bass-Strings-40-100-4-String/NEN https://www.thomann.de/gb/warwick_46210_red_strings_nickel.htm I personally prefer Stainless Steels, and I always found that the Fender 7350m's were fantastic, until they discontinued them. Stick with the Fender 7250's. Edited May 20, 2020 by Skybone

Not much in it I`d say, a new set of either makes my fingertips aware of what`s happened til they`ve aged a bit.
naxos10
Try Newtone strings which are available in Stainless or Nickel, round or hex core and virtually any gauge you want. You can even have two types of winding by going for either the Diamond or Platinum options. They have the extra benefit of being made in the UK. ClassicVibes
Little expensive for my liking - I prefer not to pay over £20 for a set of strings.

BruceBass3901
Can't speak for their nickel offerings, but I am a fan of the Bass Centre Elites. In my case, I went with the Stadiums (Stainless) and found them to have a great sound, feel really nice (not as harsh as some other SS strings I've used) and last for a long time while still having a nice zing to them. Their Players are the nickel version: http://www.basscentre.com/elites-player-series/elites-player-series-iv.html Might be worth a look? chris_b
I used DR Lo-Riders and Hi-Beams for many years. A few years ago I switched to D'Addario NYXL on my Jazz bass. There's no going back after using these strings. Try them and see what you think.
